A Woman To Lead Our Generation:
Introducing Debbie Beyer

(JHR) In the past six years, there has been no greater friend to the
families of California in the State Legislature than State Assemblyman Jay
LaSuer, a Conservative Christian Republican representing the 77th State
Assembly District (
http://republican.assembly.ca.gov/members/index.asp?Dist=77&Lang=1).

Time after time, observers have watched Assemblyman LaSuer hold his head up high,
as he would walk into the midst of the very radical, anti-Christian,
Democrat-controlled State Assembly, and make his stand for the moms and dads
of San Diego, California. Faced with the overwhelming assault of the
radical gay lobby and the extremist Democrat socialists who want to redefine
family, Jay LaSuer, has never once compromised his values or backed down
from his opponents.

In September, when radical lesbian and homosexual legislators Mark Leno,
Christine Kehoe, Carol Migden, John Laird and Sheila Kuehl were plotting to
subvert the will of California voters to pass AB849, the gay marriage bill,
it was Assemblyman Jay LaSuer that planted his feet in the middle of the
assembly chambers and declared "Not On My Watch!" In Assemblyman LaSuer's
bold and magnificent speech to the chamber
(
http://republican.assembly.ca.gov/members/index.asp?Dist=77&Lang=1&Body=PressReleases&RefID=2862).
he declared:

"History will record that you betrayed your constituents and their moral and
ethical values...
You are not leading; you have gone astray!"

Simply put, Assemblyman Jay LaSuer has been a warrior for Christian
values in Sacramento. Unfortunately, next year Assemblyman Jay LaSuer is
termed out and cannot seek reelection to the State Assembly. That has not
stopped Assemblyman LaSuer from making sure that his void will be filled
with the very best replacement possible. Assemblyman LaSuer has sought for
someone to replace him who will continue to fight for Christian values in
the state capitol. He has sought for someone who will always follow his
example of never compromising the values that make California a better place
for moms and dads to raise their children. Assemblyman LaSuer has found
such a candidate to replace him who will continue his strong Conservative
Christian legacy. That person is Debbie Beyer.

Debbie Beyer: An Overcoming Woman

It was 1996, and Debbie Beyer was living out a life of total dedication
to her faith in Jesus Christ: married to an assistant pastor at Shadow
Mountain, one of the largest Baptist churches in San Diego, California, a
dedicated mom to three beautiful sons, Troy, Shane, and Cody, and one of the
most successful and sought after teachers in the county. For the ten
previous years, Debbie had been one of the most recognized names in America
for fighting for traditional family values. Her decade long title as the
San Diego - Imperial County Representative for Concerned Women in America
had also moved the organization to choose her to being named to the National
Board of Directors for CWA, America's most influential women's family
organization.

Beyer's biography reads like a who's who of those dedicated to the
proposition that one woman, committed to improving education for the next
generation, can make a lasting difference for the good of those depending on
teachers to provide quality classroom instruction and oversight. 1996
should have been a year of great celebration for Debbie Beyer, but instead,
a great, great storm hit her home and shattered her secure world.

Finding herself without a husband, Debbie was left to pick up the
pieces as a single mother with three growing teenage boys. Determined to
see that her boys were not left to fend for themselves, Debbie chose to
shift gears, and do what only a woman of God could do in her darkest time of
challenge. Debbie remained a single mother, never remarrying, so that she
could give her all to her three sons, that they might have successful lives.
In life, great Christians sacrifice their own prized interests for that of
their fellow man, in Debbie's case, her sons. Debbie gave up her beloved
leadership position with Concerned Women for America and returned to full
time work to make sure that her boys would have everything that three
teenagers would need in
today's world. Her avowed commitment to her kids has culminated in Debbie
Beyer, as a single mom, putting two of her sons into college, and Cody, her
eighteen year old, headed in that direction.

Sometimes in life, one may never know where their own education will
lead them. Debbie was just a typical Christian woman who wanted to have a
loving husband and children, yet she was also highly motivated to make a
difference in the world of education. This hunger to help the kids of
America led her to achieve two of academia's highest honors: a Bachelors of
Science Degree in Education and Spanish from New Mexico State University,
and a Master of Arts Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from San Diego
State University. Debbie Beyer could have settled for a life of being a
teacher, a mom, and a wife. However, it was her commitment to Christ that
led her to partner with her husband at Shadow Mountain Church in El Cajon
for ten years: a true marriage partnership in church ministries. Together,
they were pastors to the Jr. High School ministry, helped develop the High
School Ministry for the church, as well as the college age ministry.

Debbie Beyer is what the left wing liberals would classify as a
"pro-life fanatic." Debbie Beyer is, in fact, pro-life, in many ways. When
faced with her own personal crisis in 1996, Debbie became pro-life for her
sons, making sure that they had the best that life could offer. That is no
easy task for a new, single mom. However, Debbie Beyer is pro-life in many
other ways. With a determination not seen by many in today's throw away
society, Debbie Beyer helped found the College Area Pregnancy Center
(www.capsonline.org) to help women who have unwanted pregnancies to keep
their babies, rather than abort them. The pregnancy center provides a full
array of services to women who are in trouble, something that Debbie Beyer
takes very
personal. Beyer understands true women's rights and is as strong an
advocate of those rights, as anything the liberals could produce in their
most active conference meetings.

Debbie Beyer: The Leader

There was a reason that Debbie Beyer was selected in 1999 to become the
Executive Assistant to the Senior Pastor at Skyline Church
(www.skylinechurch.org). Having lived in East San Diego County since 1977,
Debbie knows her community and the members of Skyline. When the pastors of
one of the largest and most active churches in San Diego needed a trusted
executive staff member, it was an easy choice for them, when they chose
Debbie. It would not be long before destiny came knocking on Beyer's door,
however. After all of the trials and tribulations, as well as the
educational investment, the following year would give birth to a
generational change for Debbie Beyer. She would now become one of San
Diego's great pioneers in the educational arena.

The birth of Debbie Beyer's concept for a new generation of schools
began in 2000 when she became Vice President of Development for Charter
Schools in San Diego. With courage, tenacity, and a bold vision, in 2001
Beyer developed and opened Literacy First Charter School
(www.literacyfirstcs.org) where she continues as Principal. Already
nominated as a California Distinguished School, Literacy First, has quickly
become one of the most successful, private charter schools in San Diego.
According to its 2003 annual report, Literacy First had already enrolled 287
students in grades K-5. Today Beyer and her charter school efforts are
reaching over 600 students. Parents are drawn to Principal Beyer's tight
run ship. Focusing on high academic
standards, and moral discipline, Debbie Beyer's vision for a better school
system in California has already gone from a dream in 2000, to a manifested
story of great success in 2005. When one looks at the Literacy First photo
album (
http://www.literacyfirstcs.org/adminteam.htm), and views the involvement
of Beyer in each classroom, with each student, as well as the accolades from
the San Diego Board of Education, the U. S. Dept. of Education, and
corporations like Wells Fargo, one must ponder the personal story of Debbie
Beyer, a woman faced with a great tragedy, overwhelming challenges, and her
god-given ability to stand firm and triumph.

Debbie Beyer's well known ethics, commitment to family, long-term
advocacy for children and the unborn, and her very public Christianity, has
also been noted by many political leaders. In 2004, Assemblyman Jay LaSuer
hired Beyer to become the district representative for the people of El Cajon
in his office. Assemblyman LaSuer knows that great sacrifice is required
when working for the citizenry of San Diego in Sacramento. That is exactly
why, out of the hundreds of potential leaders in the East County 77th
District, LaSuer chose Debbie Beyer to represent East San Diego County
communities as a field representative with his office.

Debbie Beyer: The Candidate

There is no person more qualified to fill the shoes of Jay LaSuer when
he is termed out of office in 2006 than Debbie Beyer. Debbie Beyer's
campaign website (
http://www.beyer2006.com/beyer_site/index.html) reveals an endorsement list of
some of San Diego's most distinguished political, educational and Christian
leaders, who all feel the same way that Assemblyman LaSuer feels about Beyer
(www.beyer2006.com/beyer_site/Endorsements.html). Nearly every pro-life,
pro-family Assemblymember in the state has added their names to Team Beyer.
In addition to local leaders, international Christian writer Tim LaHaye, his
national family advocate wife Beverly LaHaye, Christian Examiner Newspaper
publishers LaMar and
Theresa Keener, and Joe Drew, owner of Drew Ford Auto Dealership, are
joining dozens of others to endorse Debbie Beyer's campaign.

In Sacramento, where liberals have championed the names of leftist
Democrat women like Christine Kehoe, Sheila Kuehl, Carole Migden, and Lori
Saldana, all of whom agressively campaigned for AB849, the recently defeated
gay marriage bill, San Diego is desperately in need of a Christian woman who
will not compromise bedrock, traditional family values. One thing San Diego
voters will be assured of when Debbie Beyer goes to Sacramento, she will not
cave in to political and peer pressure to deal away traditional family
values. She has demonstrated over and over again, that when unforeseen
forces start to swing away at her, Debbie Beyer knows how to take a punch,
and with an uncommon fierceness in today's compromised culture, she knows
how to throw a knock out punch as well.
Join Team Beyer!

There will be many who will challenge Debbie Beyer in her crusade to
reclaim California for the families who are desperate to provide better
schools, protection of the borders and helping maintain traditional family
values. There will be those that will attack her very public Christianity.
And there will be those who will blast Debbie Beyer as a strong Conservative
Christian woman, because they want to hold onto their "old boy's network" in
Sacramento. The time has come for the Evangelical Community in San Diego to
rise up and stand with those candidates who are willing to give their all
for the cause of Christ in the political arena. History will record that
the battle to reclaim California commenced by the entrance of one bold woman
standing in the wilderness, crying out for justice for every
Mom and Dad, and every child, both born and unborn. That woman's name is
Debbie Beyer.
